Xaignabouly province is located in north-western of Laos and has a total area of approximately 16,389 square kilometers.
The total population is about
330,000 people and Xaignabouly
is its capital city.
The province has ten following districts:

Xaignabouly
has a border with Bokeo
and Oudomxay
in the north, Luang
Prabang and Vientiane
in the east and Thailand in the west. This is a mountainous province
with rugged landscape.
Most of their population are
farmers and they are best known for their production of rice, cotton,
peanuts, sesame and oranges.
Xaignabouly is also home of
many ethnic group such as, Tai Dam, Tai Lue, Khmu, Akha and Malabri.
These people are living side by side peacefully and practice their own
tradition and culture.
This is a province where you
can find people using elephants to help them loading and transporting
timber from the forest. In Hongsa district, elephants are treated like
men best friends because they used to help people here for century.
