The Royal Palace Luang Prabang is also known as a Royal Palace Museum, was built in 1904 during the reign of King Sisavangvong.
The Royal Palace is considered
as one of Lao's finest museum history
in Luang
Prabang. This was the place
where the king and his family hosted
their official functions and welcomed foreign visitors to the country.
After 1975 when the country had
a new government, the king palace
was then converted to a national museum and opened to public.

Located right in the city
opposite Phou-Si mountain, this palace is
a wonderful structure of both Lao and French handicraft. The best way
to experience this remarkable site is by entering through Italian
marble steps in front of the building. Directly above the entrance you
can see a three-headed elephant sheltered by the sacred white parasol,
the symbol of the Lao monarchy. As you are entering the hall there are
a variety of royal religious objects on display for you to see and
enjoy.
Today, the Royal
Palace Luang Prabang stands as
one of the
best living examples of how the kingdom of Lao Lanexang grew and ended.
This place is rather a fascinating site. If you're feeling curious and
like to learn more about laos
history, Laos culture and lao
people
then this is the place to begin.

Outside in the palace gardens,
there is a statue of King
Sisavang Vong, a lotus pond, two
cannons at the entrance and some
buildings surrounding the palace such as:

My hobby is to travel. I have visited many places in the world and I finally fell in love with Laos. Therefore, I created this web site using Site Build It! to let the world know about this country and earn extra income from it. You do not need any experience or web site programming to build a web site with Site Build It!
