Oudomxay Province

Oudomxay province is located in the northern part of laos and has a total area of approximately 15,370 square kilometers.

The total population is about 250,000 people and Xay is its capital city.

The province has seven following districts:

• 1. Xay District
• 2. La District
• 3. Namor District
• 4. Nga District
• 5. Beng District
• 6. Hoon District
• 7. Pakbeng District

Oudomxay has a border with Phongsaly province in the northeast, Luang Prabang in the east, Bokeo and Luang Namtha province in the northwest. This is a mountainous province that has more than twenty ethic groups; they're mainly Hmong, Ekor and Khamu.

You can reach Oudomxay by air and bus.

By Air:
Lao Airlines fly from and to Vientiane three times a week onTuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

By bus:

There are buses from different cities arrive at and depart from OudomxayBus station daily.

Attractions

Oudomxay has a nice waterfall at Lak Sip Et near Muang Say and hot springs near muang La are among some of their attractions sites in the province. Here is also a good location for tourist to visit Hmong and khmu villages to learn about their custom and culture.
