Laos Song

Laos song or Lao classical music was originally developed as music for royal ceremonies and classical dance drama during 18th-19th centuries. The practice of classical music and drama has been decline due to the new government and replace by new wave of Lao revolutionary songs.

Today Lao songs, Lao pop and Lao Molum are very popular as many new singers are born every day and bring out new albums to the public. Since Laos is entering the new era of economic reform, more Lao people have access to new technology like the internet then music can spread like a wild fire.

Alexandra Bounxouei is one of Lao pop star singer that successfully doing well in this field including starring a movie drama in Thailand.

Molum is also very popular, not only Lao people sing Molum, Jonny Olsen the American from California sing Molum too. He likes it a lot, he cans sing and play Khaen.
