So what is Laos climate?
Laos is situated in tropical
region, near the equator, its climate is hot and humid. But not all
parts of Laos has the same climate. If you are heading to the north you
will notice the climate is much cooler there than in the south.
Laos is a tropical country and
has tropical climate. Laos has two distinctive seasons known as raining
season and dry season. During dry season in some days the temperature
can reach as high as 45 degree census and in raining season the weather
is hot too but a little cooler after the rain. The average temperature
of Laos climate is around thirty degrees Celsius.
Dry season starts from November
until the end April, during November to February the weather is cooler
due to the cold wind bring cold weather from the Vietnam coast line.
April is the hottest month in Laos and during this month Lao's people
celebrate Lao's new year by throwing water to each others. According to
their tradition water can wash away bad luck so in new year Lao's
people can start their new life fresh again.

The raining season starts from
May until the end of October during this time the farmers cultivate the
rice field. The average rainfall over the country is approximately
between 1,000 mm to 2,000 mm but the rainfall is varied from areas to
areas.

Luang
Prabang city:
Luang Prabang is situated in
the northern part of Laos surrounding by mountains and forests.
Therefore, the climate there is fresher and cooler compare to others
cities in Laos. Luang Prabang's weather is approximately in the mid
twenty to thirties with the fresh wind coming from Vietnam over the
mountains. Average rain fall is higher compare to the others cities in
the country.
Vientiane
The Capital city:
Vientiane is situated in middle part of the country in the low land
area along the Mekong river. Vientiane climate is hot and humid all
year. The average temperature is around thirty degrees census.
Vientiane temperature is lower between January to March.
Xieng
Khuoang City:
Xieng Khuoang is situated is
the eastern part of Laos near Vietnam border. The climate there is
cooler due to the Annamite mountains range and dense forest near its
border. The averagetemperature is in the mid twenty.
Pakse
City:
Pakse
climate is the hottest of all. Pakse is situated in the south of Laos
near Mekong river. The average temperature is around thirty degrees
Celsius. Bolaven
plateau only 50 km awayfrom
Pakse is ideal places for coffee cultivation as the weather there is
cold. At night the temperature can drop as low as zero degrees Celsius
in some months.
