Bolaven Plateau is one of the most fertile land in the south of Laos and situated between Pakse, Salavan and Attapeu.
This is an elevated region with
an elevation ranges approximately from 1,000 to 1,350 meters (3,300 to
4,430 ft) above sea level.

The bolaven plateau lied in an
extinguished volcano that erupted thousands of years ago and it is
green all year round. The weather here is cooler than the rest of the
country. The plateau is the home of the world's best coffee beans,
surrounding the plateau there are a number of protected national areas (Xe
Pian), beautiful waterfalls,
remote hill tribes and dense forests
This place offers a great
diversity of attractions like Tad Lo Waterfalls, Tad Fane (also known
as Dong Hua Sao) and many guesthouses that available for tourist and
visitors who like to explore the area. Tourists now have countless
opportunities to indulge in the Plateau’s beautiful scenery
that has begun to capture international attention..
Paksong is the main town of the
bolaven plateau, the center for local government and market business to
carry out daily activities. It is also known for its rich coffee,
exotic fruits and numerous types of vegetation.

bus station in Pakse ( KM 8 )
Southern bus station is
situated in KM8 south of Pakse, from here there are buses going to
Bolaven Plateau. You can catch the following buses to get there.
Paksong
- Attapeu
Big and small buses leave here
frequently in the direction of Attapeu until 4 p.m. those buses will
stop also in Paksong.
For VIP bus to Attapeu, it
leaves here at 3.15p.m this bus stops also in Paksong, Tatheng and
Sekong.
The slow bus from Vientiane
to Attapeu
stop outside the bus station around 5.pm which stop also in Paksong.
