Attapeu Province
| Attapeu province is located in southern of laos and has a total area of approximately 10,320 square kilometers. The total population is about 120,000 people and Samakkhixay is it capital city. |
The province has five following districts:

- 1. Phouvong District
- 2. Samakkhixay District
- 3. Sanamxay District
- 4. Sanxay District
- 5. Xaysetha District
Attapeu shares borders with Vietnam in the east, Cambodia in the south, Sekong province in the north and Champasak province in the west. This a province is a home of a lot of groups of minorities people in Laos. The major tribes that found here are Kleum, katou, Alak, katang, Tahoy, Nge, Suay and Nyajeung.
Nong Fa is the largest crater lake in the province, it has beautiful blue water all year round and surrounded by pine forests. Attapeu also is best known for its rivers, Sekong and Sekaman and also well-known over the country where they found a lot of gold nugget deposit along its rivers.
Getting to Attapeu by road is still difficult, especial during rainning season where some part of the roads are flooding and muddy.
